Freedom Through Healing returns with its third edition: The Power Within

On Tuesday, November 18, 2025, Paradiso Amsterdam will host the third edition of Freedom Through Healing – an evening where music, dialogue, and healing intersect. Under the theme “The Power Within,” the organizers invite visitors to look inward: to find strength in vulnerability, and to look at themselves with courage and compassion.

What began three years ago as an intimate evening focused on mental health and community care has grown into an annual benefit concert and community event that brings together music lovers, artists, and healers. The third edition promises to be another multi-layered experience, where music not only entertains but also heals and connects.

The focus will be a live Q&A panel discussion on mental health and the various forms of healing, moderated by Safiya Juliana. Joining us will be Afia Anim, a Ghanaian singer-songwriter raised in the Netherlands, along with four other experts: Clayton Thodé (Vindestho Coaching), Leon-Mitchell Tosch (Black Men Talk Foundation), Phyllis Döll (Phyllisofie), and Rosita Rijkland (Akosua Healing). An open discussion will be facilitated, setting the stage for an evening of music, awareness, and shared experience.

After the panel, Afia Anim will celebrate the release of her new EP, which interweaves her signature blend of Afrobeats, R&B, and (Neo)Soul with themes of empowerment, self-love, and transformation. She’ll share the stage with Gaidaa, Illnoledge, and Shaé Universe—three international artists who each embody the power of expression and community in their own way.

In addition to the musical performances, the audience is immersed in a multi-sensory experience where light, scent, and sound combine to create a space of connection and introspection. Yemaya provides inner nourishment with a carefully curated menu of vegan soul food.

The proceeds of the evening will go towards establishing a therapy fund and a community wellness space in Ghana, aimed at promoting access to mental health care and collective healing.

Freedom Through Healing is open to everyone, but is curated with special care as a space where BIPOC communities can be, reflect, and heal—together, in strength.
