On it the Dutch-Cape Verdean singer brings an unusual fusion of modern and traditional music from the homeland of her parents.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Date:<\/strong> Friday 13 November 2015, 20.30 hrs\u00a0<br \/>\n<strong>Venue:<\/strong> <strong>LantarenVenster<\/strong>, Otto Reuchlinweg 996, Rotterdam (The Netherlands)<\/p>\n<p>On &#8220;Pegam na M\u00f4\u201d Dina cleverly combines various musical styles. She delves into the highly danceable<em> Funan\u00e1 <\/em>that made her famous in lots of Portuguese speaking countries being part of well known projects like Gil &amp; The Perfects and Splash. She easily revisits the popular <em>Morna<\/em> genre for which she was rewarded with two prestigious Cabo Verde Music Awards. In addition, she also allows\u00a0a broad spectrum of musical influences and experiences to be reflected on the album. &#8220;Pegam na M\u00f4&#8221; which translates as &#8220;Take me by the hand&#8221;, is a feast of recognition and at the same time an introduction into the colorful world of Dina Medina. On this album she collaborates with a collage of musicians; <strong>Sara Tavares<\/strong> (Cape Verde \/ Portugal ),<strong> Zoumana Diarra<\/strong> (Mali), <strong>Mola Sylla<\/strong> (Senegal), <strong>Mousse Phate Mbaye<\/strong> (Senegal), <strong>Neco Novellas<\/strong> (Mozambique), <strong>William Araujo <\/strong>(Cape Verde), <strong>Gery Mendes<\/strong> (Cape Verde) and <strong>Fernando Lameirinhas<\/strong> (Portugal). The album is produced by <strong>Thijs Borsten<\/strong>, <strong>Danilo Tavares<\/strong> and longtime friend <strong>Paulo Bouwman<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Thus &#8220;Pegam na M\u00f4&#8221; is an album that not only appeals to connoisseurs of traditional Cape Verdean music but also will leave world music enthusiasts excited.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Dina will also premiere the music video of the first single &#8220;<strong>Lenga Lenga<\/strong>\u201c ft William Araujo &amp; Gery Mendes.
