Lovebites is a modern romantic drama about a young\u00a0Black woman navigating a disorienting relationship with her boyfriend, in a story told via\u00a0split screens.<\/h3>\n<p>A <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lovebitesthefilm.com\">crowd fundraiser<\/a> for the film is picking up speed, and the project\u00a0presents an opportunity for people to join this ambitious collaborative effort.\u00a0Okorie\u2019s personal artistic vision dictates that this story be told using split screens, which\u00a0means that production entails shooting two versions of the same film at once.<\/p>\n<p>Lovebites\u00a0will invite the audience to consider multiple perspectives, with no clear indication of\u00a0which narrative can be trusted. The film will rely on subtlety and nuance to depict a\u00a0relationship between two Black twentysomethings who just can\u2019t seem to stay on the\u00a0same page.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"url-to-video-container vimeo-container no-js\"><span class=\"vimeo-player url-to-video-player loader\" data-vimeo-id=\"275533557\"><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Lovebites team includes Nava Mau as a producer, and Mariana Gonzales as\u00a0director of photography. Danielle Payne is cast in the lead role of Cat, with Ukairo Ukpai\u00a0Ukairo cast as her boyfriend, Chidi. In preparation for the project\u2019s fundraiser, Okorie\u00a0and the cast created a concept trailer that previews the film\u2019s unique visual elements.<\/p>\n<p>Okorie has been working toward this moment for years. After launching a student-run\u00a0television station at St. Edward\u2019s University, she wrote and directed two short films.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Richard Cory is available for viewing online, and Impressions is in post-production.\u00a0Okorie\u2019s impressive demo reel highlights various other works.<br \/>\nThe Lovebites fundraiser is in motion, and the Lovebites team seeks donations to cover\u00a0the costs of production and post-production.
