The Caribbean Export Development Agency\u00a0(Carib-Export)\u00a0has announced the launch of\u00a0its first virtual\u00a0expo\u00a0event named\u00a0\u2018\u2019Absolutely Caribbean, unlocking the\u00a0profit\u00a0potential of the Caribbean\u2019.\u00a0\u00a0Taking place on 17th\u00a0and 18th\u00a0November 2020,\u00a0the event\u00a0will\u00a0bring together around 50 producers from across the region to showcase some of the best products that the Caribbean has to offer, including Suriname and the Dutch Caribbean.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Attendees\u00a0will\u00a0have the chance to book slots to meet with producers from a variety of categories including\u00a0natural food products, sauces and condiments;\u00a0rum & spirits, neutraceuticals and plant-based cosmetics. \u00a0There will also be\u00a0a presentation by\u00a0consumer goods and retail experts\u00a0to\u00a0discuss the latest insights on these fast-moving consumer goods\u00a0within the Netherlands and Belgium.<\/p>\n

Carib-Export has partnered with Shaun and Craig\u00a0McAnuff\u00a0of Original Flava for the event who have found great success with their Caribbean food and lifestyle platform and recently released their first cookbook of authentic Jamaican recipes.\u00a0\u00a0With an increase in demand for Caribbean sauces and condiments across Europe, the\u00a0duo will host a\u00a0live session to show how versatile these products are, including a cooking demonstration.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The event is also supported by the West Indies Rum & Spirit\u00a0Producer\u2019s Association (WIRSPA), who represent\u00a0distillers\u2019\u00a0associations from across the ACP Caribbean and will be hosting a session on premium alcoholic drinks from the Caribbean\u00a0in collaboration with\u00a0the Rum and Spirits Academy of Europe.\u00a0\u00a0ACP stands for \u2018Africa, Caribbean and Pacific\u2019. The ACP Caribbean states are the countries that are signatories of the Lom\u00e9 Convention signed in 1975. This was superseded by the Cotonou Agreement in June 2000.<\/p>\n

The online event is a joint venture between Carib-Export, the European Commission and the German International Development Agency (GIZ), and has been launched off the back of a successful three-day trade show and conference which took place in Frankfurt, Germany last year.\u00a0<\/p>\n
